Tom Plotkin joined the Los Angeles BizEx Business Broker team with the desire to bring the small business buyer and seller together for a mutually beneficial and meaningful exchange. One with professional guidance which will allow both buyer and seller to achieve their personal goals and thrive.

Trained as 91A10 Combat Medic, Tom has always been interested in medicine.  Specializing in the sale of community pharmacies, hospice licenses, medical and dental practices keeps him close to his keen interest in medicine and health care.

Tom also focuses on the sale of automotive aftermarket companies from the manufacturer to the retailer.  His grandfather owned one of the original auto salvage yards in Los Angeles in the 1920's and Tom spent over 30 years in the automotive parts and accessory industry.

He is a native southern Californian with over 40 years of small business experience at both the domestic and international level. Tom operated, purchased and sold various businesses that focused on light manufacturing for the automotive, aircraft and home furnishing aftermarkets. Sales and marketing strategies include active internet marketing to both B2B and B2C clients as well as traditional brick and mortar techniques.  He has been associated with such brands as Shore-Calnevar, Cromwell Oil Company, Safetech Helmets, Martin Manufacturing and Comfy Seat Covers.

In addition, Tom has hands-on owner experience managing a personal portfolio of residential and commercial properties working directly with both property managers and tenants.

A UCLA graduate, he worked in a family business as a print and media buyer to support a nationwide network of small business owners holding exclusive franchises with the company. Tom later joined the New Zealand Consulate General's Marketing & Trade office in Los Angeles to mentor manufacturers in the marketing and export of their products to US markets. Business and pleasure travels have taken him to New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Costa Rica, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador [Galapagos], Ireland, France, Portugal, Gibraltar, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, India, Cambodia & Vietnam.
